I bought this thinking that it was a board book, I don't want my son to read it by himself because I am scared he will tear the pages. The pages aren't thick enough for him to turn himself so I don't think I will really use it.
My kid likes this book a lot, and we also have the Potty Book for Girls. They are fun and popular. However my complaint is the grammar the books (and associated DVDs) use, including saying things like "Teddy and me go off to the potty." I don't want my child learning to speak incorrectly -- why on earth should a kids' book or DVD use incorrect grammar.
It gave them inspiration to be a big boy, and yet that it is still ok to have an accident, just try again. I bought this book for my first son. And now even after my second son has been potty trained for a year, they still like to read it. We like the illustrations and high quality of the book. After 3 years it still looks and feels brand new.
I bought The Potty book for girls, and my 2 little friends just loved it, now they have a brother, so I bought the boy one. Its a great book to start training your child.
Well, my son hasn't gone to the potty yet,but he will try. He LOVES this book and we have to read it every day. He says OOOOOPS when Henry has an accident and we talk about teddy and big boy underwear. The book is not a board book, but has nice sturdy pages to stand up to a very active toddler.
